Time Doctor Pro is a more comprehensive application compared to the Time Doctor Lite version. To see a video of the differences, click here. Time Doctor Pro is the version of Time Doctor where you can organize your tasks and put them into folders, or edit projects and move around the priorities of tasks:
There are three main (default) folders for your tasks:
These folders can help you organize your tasks for the day. You can drag and drop your tasks in their order of importance, or drag them to another folder. Alternatively, you can also create your own folder by clicking on the (+) sign.
1.) Drag and drop feature - you have the capability to arrange your tasks or put them in folders. Click on the number to the left of the task name to drag it:
2.) Creating/Adding Folders - Add folders to organize your tasks:
3.) Easy Edit - If you have a typo in a task you created, or want to make it more descriptive, you can do so with Easy Edit in Time Doctor Pro. With Time Doctor Lite, you are unable to edit task names, and you’ll have to re-enter a new task entirely. With Time Doctor Pro, you can just click on Easy Edit and click on the task that you need to edit. This will edit the current task that you’re working on and will not create a separate/new task:
4.) Create your Task list - You can have a set of tasks for the day and may find it easier if you compose that list first, then just click away throughout the work day. You can do that with Time Doctor Pro. Just type in your new task and click on the plus sign for it to be added to the list but not track time yet. You may want to avoid pressing the Enter button (If you have that habit too!) because it will automatically start tracking time:
5.) Dedicated Folders pane - on the left side of the app, you can see your folders. Below the folders are the Active Projects (If you have any) and at the bottom you will have any integration projects. This is for ease of navigation between projects/folders. Once you click on a specific folder, it will display the tasks listed under that folder to the right side of the app:
6.) Tips Area - in the Time Doctor Lite, tips are shown like a pop up notification from the system tray. With Time Doctor Pro, you have the option to show them or hide them, depending on your preference. If you would like to see them, put a check mark on the “Show tips area” under the Options tab:
Other Features that are also available with the Time Doctor Lite and Pro:
1.) Hide/Display Activity bar - Similar to that of the regular Time Doctor, you can also show/hide this feature.
2.) Keyboard Shortcuts - You can set these or use the default preset values
3.) Proxy Settings - You can use this setting if you need to override your current connection’s restrictions.
Generally, If you have fewer than 10 tasks each day and they keep changing, you’re better off using the Time Doctor Lite application. But if you have more tasks than you know what to do with and find it hard to be organized, then Time Doctor Pro is for you. You may download them both here: http://www.timedoctor.com/download.html
