Connect ChatGPT Desktop to Time Doctor - Beta
Note: The AI connection (MCP) is available on all Time Doctor subscription plans and can be accessed by Owners, Admins, and Managers.
TL;DR:
Connect ChatGPT Desktop to Time Doctor's AI connection (MCP) by creating a connection key in Settings, adding Time Doctor as a custom MCP connector in ChatGPT, and starting a new chat. If the custom MCP option is not visible, turn on Developer Mode in ChatGPT's settings first.
Before Starting
- Install the ChatGPT desktop app and sign in.
- Have a Time Doctor login with the Owner, Admin, or Manager role.
Set Up the Connection
- In Time Doctor, go to Settings / AI Connections and click Connect an AI Tool.
- Select ChatGPT Desktop, name the connection, and click Create Connection.
- Copy the connection key. It is shown only once, so store it somewhere safe.
- In ChatGPT, click the profile name in the bottom-left corner, then select Settings.
- Go to Plugins.
- Choose to connect a custom MCP. If the option is not visible, turn on Developer Mode in ChatGPT's settings.
- Name the server (for example, Time Doctor) and set the type to Streamable HTTP.
- Paste the server URL:
https://api2.timedoctor.com/api/2.0/mcp/mcp - Under Headers, click Add Header, enter x-api-key as the key, and paste the connection key as the value.
- Leave the remaining fields empty and click Save.
- Start a new chat in ChatGPT.
