Connect Claude Desktop to Time Doctor - Beta

Note: The AI connection (MCP) is available on all Time Doctor subscription plans and can be accessed by Owners, Admins, and Managers.

TL;DR

Connect Claude Desktop to Time Doctor's AI connection (MCP) by creating the connection in Settings, downloading and installing the connector file, and starting a new chat in Claude. If the install does not start automatically, add the connector manually from the Extensions section of Claude Desktop's settings.

Before Starting

  • Install Claude Desktop and sign in.
  • Download Claude Desktop from claude.ai/download.
  • Have a Time Doctor login with the Owner, Admin, or Manager role.

Set Up the Connection

  1. In Time Doctor, go to Settings / AI Connections and click Connect an AI Tool.
  2. Select Claude Desktop, name the connection, and click Create Connection.
  3. Download the Time Doctor installer (a .mcpb file).
  4. Double-click the downloaded file. If Windows prompts for an app to open it, select Claude. In the Claude pop-up, click Install.
  5. Optional: Click Configure and allow the Time Doctor tools so Claude does not request permission for each use.
  6. Start a new chat in Claude.

If Installation Does Not Start

  1. In Claude Desktop, click the account name in the bottom-left corner, then select Settings.
  2. Go to Extensions, then Advanced Settings.
  3. Click Install Extension and select the downloaded .mcpb file.
  4. Click Open, then Install to complete setup.
  5. Optional: Click Configure and allow the Time Doctor tools so Claude does not request permission for each use.
  6. Start a new chat in Claude.
