Troubleshooting missing Time Doctor Start Timer in Jira or Trello (and other integrations)

Enable the integration

  1. Have an administrator enable the Integration settings from the Time Doctor admin dashboard.
  2. Ensure the integration is enabled and available to users before proceeding.

 

Install and verify the Chrome extension

  1. Install the Time Doctor Chrome extension. 

  2. After installing, refresh the Jira or Trello page to let the extension detect the site.

Troubleshooting steps if the Start Timer button does not appear

  • Refresh the page
    Refresh Jira or Trello after installing the extension and enabling the integration.

     

  • Try to make the site the first browser tab
    Try placing Jira or Trello in the first tab of the browser and refresh the page. It is recommended to have the site in the first tab so the extension can detect and add the Start Timer as soon as the URL is detect, note that this is a trial and error step as this does not normally happen in all browsers.

 

Notes and best practices

  • Confirm an administrator has enabled Integration settings in the admin dashboard before troubleshooting client-side steps.

     

  • Install the Time Doctor  Chrome extension and refresh the page for the Start Timer to appear.

     

  • Making the target site the first browser tab increases the chance the extension will detect it and display the Start Timer.
