      How to Deploy the Silent App .pkg on Mac Computers Using Microsoft Intune

       

       

      There are two ways to get the .pkg file for the silent app for Mac:  

      • Via email, through  support@timedoctor.com
      • Via chat, by opening the chat bubble in the lower right corner of the Time Doctor Web Dashboard.

       

       

      Below are the steps on how to add and deploy the silent app .pkg on Mac computers using Microsoft Intune.

       

      1. Open Microsoft Intune Admin Center.

      2. Navigate to Apps>macOS as shown in the image below.

      3. Click the Add button to add the PKG file.

      4. Click the drop-down icon and select the macOS app(PKG).

      5. App Information - Click Select app package file.

        1. Browse the location of the PKG file.

        2. Once the file is selected, click OK.

        3. Fill out the required information and click Next.

      6. Program - On this part, just click Next since we are not going to use a script.

      7. Requirements - To set the Minimum Operating System requirement, select the drop-down icon. Supported Operating System is MacOS Catalina (10.15) or newer

      8. Detection rules - The App bundle ID and the App version are automatically added; just click Next.

      9. Assignments - To install the application on each Mac computer, make sure to choose the appropriate group of Mac users.

        1. Once the group is added, click Next.

      10. Review + create - Review the summary of the configuration in the final step and proceed by clicking Create.

      11. Once completed,  wait for the process to finish.

      Note: The installation on Mac computers typically takes between 10- 15 minutes. To verify if the app is already installed on each Mac computer, navigate to Apps > macOS, and click on the app package that was configured. It is also recommended that users synchronize their Company Portal to ensure the configuration is up to date.
