How to Download & Install the Time Doctor Automatic App
Note: Ensure the company account type is configured as either Automatic Only or Automatic & Interactive (adjust in Settings / Company Settings page).
TL;DR:
Download the Automatic App from the Time Doctor Downloads page. For single-user installation, run the downloaded file. For mass deployment, use Group Policy, Microsoft Intune, JumpCloud, or Jamf depending on the environment.
Single-User Installation
- Log in to the Time Doctor account and open the Downloads page.
- Select the appropriate operating system (Windows, macOS, or Ubuntu).
- Download the Automatic App installer.
- On Windows, run the downloaded .msi.
- On macOS or Linux, run the installer script in the terminal.
Mass Deployment Options
Windows (Group Policy/Active Directory)
- Deploy the .msi file across devices via Group Policy. Do not rename the MSI, as it is company-specific.
Microsoft Intune
- Add a new Line-of-business app in the Client apps section. Assign INSTALLID={companyID} and publish to the target users or devices.
JumpCloud
- In the JumpCloud Admin portal, create commands using the unique download link and MSI reference. Configure uninstall scripts if necessary.
Jamf (macOS)
- Use the installer script in Jamf policies. Bypass permission prompts with PPPC Utility and upload a configuration profile to install the app silently.
