How to Identify Devices that May Still Have the Time Doctor Automatic App Installed

Note: Automatic App Device Identification is available in Premium plans and can be accessed by Owners and Admins.

TL;DR:

Use the Inactive Computers tab in Settings / Users to find devices where the Automatic App is still installed. Check the Last Seen column to verify whether uninstallation was successful.

Prerequisites

  • Access to Settings / Users with Owner or Admin permissions.
  • Knowledge of uninstallation steps for the Automatic App (see Uninstall the Automatic App).

Identify Devices with Automatic App Still Installed

  1. Sign in to the Time Doctor web app.
  2. Navigate to Settings / Users.
  3. Select the Inactive Computers tab.
  4. At the top of the page, adjust the time range (X days) to define the period of server contact you want to review.
  5. Review the list of devices:
    • If all associated users have been deleted and the Automatic App tried to reach Time Doctor’s server in the specified period, the device appears in the list.
    • The Last Seen column shows the most recent contact date.

Interpreting the Results

  • If Last Seen is later than the uninstallation date, the uninstall was not successful.
  • If Last Seen is on or before the uninstallation date, the uninstall was successful.

Additional Verification

  • Open the device’s Task Manager.
  • Confirm that the process sfproc is not running.

Troubleshooting

  • Device still listed: Ensure the uninstallation steps were followed correctly.
  • sfproc process visible: The Automatic App is still active on the device. Re‑attempt uninstall.
  • No access to Settings / Users: Ask an Owner or Admin to perform the check.
