Why can't I see screenshots of some users?

Note:

Screenshot feature is available in all pricing plans within Time Doctor. Avanced features like Identical Screenshots are available on Standard and Premium subscription plans; while Video Screencasts are only available on Premium Plan and is available as an add-on to the rest of the plans available.

Continuous video screencast is NOT available on ChromeOS Browser App.

TL;DR:

If screencasts for employees are not visible, ensure that All Users is selected in the User Filter, the necessary admin permissions are granted, the app is updated, and macOS permissions are configured correctly. To view screencasts for a specific user, select the user from the User Filter dropdown.

Why Screencasts May Not Be Visible

User Filter Settings

Check if All Users is selected from the User Filter on the Screencasts page. If this is not selected, screencasts for all users may not display. To view screencasts for a specific user, select their name from the User Filter dropdown.

Permissions and Access Levels

Only Admin users have permission to view all users' screencasts. If logged in as a Regular user, access to others' screencasts is restricted.

App Version and Operating System

Outdated versions of the Time Doctor app may malfunction, especially on newer operating systems. Compatibility issues can prevent screencasts from being recorded or displayed.

Steps to Fix Missing Screencasts

1. Check User Filter

  • Navigate to the Screencasts page.

  • Select All Users from the User Filter.

  • To view screencasts for an individual user, choose the user's name from the dropdown menu.

2. Verify Access Level

  • Confirm that the logged-in user has Admin privileges.

  • If not, contact the Account Owner to request access or verify roles.

3. Update the App

  • Ask employees to install the latest version of the Time Doctor app.

  • This ensures optimal compatibility with current OS updates.

4. Confirm macOS Screen Recording Permissions (if applicable)

  • For macOS devices, grant required Screen Recording permissions under System Settings / Privacy & Security.

  • Follow Time Doctor's macOS configuration guidelines.

To resolve screencast visibility issues, adjust the User Filter, verify admin access, ensure the Time Doctor app is updated, and confirm macOS permissions if applicable.
