How to Add Automatic App Users

Note: This is available with all Time Doctor Subscription Plans. This can be accessed by Owners, Admin.
Pre-Requisite
- Check if Review and approve new automatic application users is enabled in Setting / Company Setting Page and the scroll under Configuration section as this is disabled by default.
- Confirm that a new tab labelled New Automatic Users shows up in Settings / Users Page
- Different categories will appear Inside New Automatic Users such as:
- Pending approval - this is where all new automatic users attempt will appear and no billing will start yet
- Approved users – these are all approved users who have not started tracking time yet and no billing will start still, once users start tracking time, they will no longer appear here and will move to Settings / Users Page in the Active Users section
- Blocked users – These are users profiles that should not be tracked
- Pending approval - this is where all new automatic users attempt will appear and no billing will start yet
Caution: It is a MUST to restart the device of the user to be detected by the system and be moved to the Active Users Tab in Settings / Users Page.
How to Add Users
Windows Users

Go to your Downloads page.
- Select the Windows tab.

Download the app and install it on any Windows machine that you want to track. You can also copy the link and share it with those who are going to install the app.
Note: You’ll need to install the same MSI file on all Windows machines.
If you’re using Active Directory, your system administrator can download the MSI file from the Downloads page and deploy the app to all Windows machines using Group Policy.
Mac Users

Go to your Downloads page.

Select the Mac OS X tab.

Copy the installation script.

Launch the terminal window and paste the installation script.

Ubuntu Users

Go to your Downloads page.

Select the Ubuntu tab.

Copy the installation script.

Launch the terminal in Ubuntu and paste the installation script.
Note: Time Doctor is officially supported with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (64 bit) / Debian 8 and Ubunt.04 LTS / Debian 9. If you’re using an older version of Ubuntu, we suggest updating it. Make sure to back up your data before upgrading your system to avoid any data loss.
