Connect Claude Desktop to Time Doctor - Beta
Note: The AI connection (MCP) is available on all Time Doctor subscription plans and can be accessed by Owners, Admins, and Managers.
TL;DR
Connect Claude Desktop to Time Doctor's AI connection (MCP) by creating the connection in Settings, downloading and installing the connector file, and starting a new chat in Claude. If the install does not start automatically, add the connector manually from the Extensions section of Claude Desktop's settings.
Before Starting
- Install Claude Desktop and sign in.
- Download Claude Desktop from claude.ai/download.
- Have a Time Doctor login with the Owner, Admin, or Manager role.
Set Up the Connection
- In Time Doctor, go to Settings / AI Connections and click Connect an AI Tool.
- Select Claude Desktop, name the connection, and click Create Connection.
- Download the Time Doctor installer (a .mcpb file).
- Double-click the downloaded file. If Windows prompts for an app to open it, select Claude. In the Claude pop-up, click Install.
- Optional: Click Configure and allow the Time Doctor tools so Claude does not request permission for each use.
- Start a new chat in Claude.
If Installation Does Not Start
- In Claude Desktop, click the account name in the bottom-left corner, then select Settings.
- Go to Extensions, then Advanced Settings.
- Click Install Extension and select the downloaded .mcpb file.
- Click Open, then Install to complete setup.
- Optional: Click Configure and allow the Time Doctor tools so Claude does not request permission for each use.
- Start a new chat in Claude.
