How Long Does It Take To Sync Data Between the Desktop App and Reports?

TL;DR:

Expect the desktop app and online reports to sync every 3–5 minutes. If data appears on the desktop app but not yet in reports, allow a few minutes or resolve common blockers (internet connectivity, antivirus/firewall, temporary server load).

How long does syncing take?

Syncing between the Time Doctor desktop app and the servers (which power online reports) generally occurs every 3–5 minutes. Minor differences between the desktop timer and report totals usually indicate that some recent time has not synced yet.

Why can syncing be delayed?

Address the following common causes to restore normal sync speed:
  • Slow or unstable internet connection on the device.
  • Antivirus or firewall restrictions blocking Time Doctor services.
  • Temporary high server traffic that resolves automatically after load decreases.

Fix it fast

  • Ensure a stable connection. Reconnect to a reliable network.
  • Whitelist Time Doctor. Add the app and domains to antivirus/firewall allowlists. (If managed by IT, request the change.)
  • Wait briefly and refresh. Reopen the report or refresh the browser if traffic is temporarily high.

Still not syncing?
