Time Doctor Navigation Guide

 

Note: The Time Doctor Navigation Guide is available on all Time Doctor subscription plans and can be accessed by Owners, Admins, and Managers. Some features — such as the Executive Dashboard, Benchmarks AI, Unusual Activity, and certain add-ons — require a Premium Plan or a paid add-on. Plan requirements are noted throughout this article.

TL;DR
The Time Doctor web app (2.timedoctor.com) is organized into nine top navigation sections: Dashboard, Reports, Screencasts, Edit Time, Approvals, Settings, Payroll, Invite, and Download. The Reports menu contains 11 sub-reports across three categories. The Settings menu holds all company-wide configuration pages. Some features require a Premium Plan or a paid add-on.

 

This article provides a complete reference to every page in the Time Doctor web app (2.timedoctor.com), organized by menu section. Use this guide to quickly locate any feature, understand its purpose, and navigate directly to it.

 

Top Navigation Bar Overview

The top navigation bar contains nine primary menu items:

  • Dashboard
  • Reports
  • Screencasts
  • Edit Time

  • Download

Dashboard, Reports, and Settings are dropdown menus with sub-pages. The remaining items link directly to a single page.

 

1. Dashboard

Path: Dashboard (top navigation bar dropdown)
The Dashboard menu is a dropdown with three views.

Team Dashboard (Default)

Path: Dashboard → Team URL: 2.timedoctor.com/dashboard
The default landing page. Shows a company-wide overview including time tracked, meeting time, manual time, mobile time, unproductive websites, and active users. Also displays top projects and users who have not yet tracked time.

Executive Dashboard (Premium)

Path: Dashboard → Executive URL: 2.timedoctor.com/dashboard-executive
A Premium view that brings company-wide and group-level productivity, attendance, and efficiency data into one consolidated view. Requires a Premium Plan with 20 or more users to access.

User Dashboard

Path: Dashboard → User URL: 2.timedoctor.com/dashboard-individual
A per-user view showing individual time tracked metrics — including meeting time, idle minutes, unproductive/productive web time, and break time — plus a daily timeline of work sessions.

 

2. Reports

Path: Reports (top navigation bar dropdown)
The Reports menu is a dropdown organized into three categories: Productivity & Focus, Performance & Collaboration, and Operations & Cost Management.

Productivity & Focus

Activity Summary

Path: Reports → Activity Summary URL: 2.timedoctor.com/activity-summary
Shows a detailed breakdown of user activity including activity level, idle time, unproductive time, meeting time, manual and mobile time, and break/leave time. Filterable by preset views and supports Day, Week, and Month views.

Hours Tracked

Path: Reports → Hours Tracked URL: 2.timedoctor.com/hours-tracked
Displays total time tracked per user, broken down by Computer Time, Manual Time, Mobile Time, Break Time, and Paid Leave Time. Supports Day, Week, and Month views.

Projects & Tasks

Path: Reports → Projects & Tasks URL: 2.timedoctor.com/projects-report
Shows time tracked per project and task across the team. Useful for billing and project tracking. Includes an Expand All option and Display Settings for column customization.

Timeline

Path: Reports → Timeline URL: 2.timedoctor.com/timeline
A visual timeline showing when each user worked during the day. Displays start time, end time, time worked, and a color-coded bar chart (Computer, Manual, Mobile, Break, and Leave Time). Select any row to open a side panel with deeper detail.

Web & App Usage

Path: Reports → Web & App Usage URL: 2.timedoctor.com/web-app-usage
Shows productive vs. unproductive website and application usage per user. Includes a trends chart and the ability to switch between the Users view and the Websites & Apps view. Productivity ratings can be adjusted directly from this page.

Performance & Collaboration

AI Impact (Beta / Add-on)

Path: Reports → AI Impact URL: 2.timedoctor.com/ai-impact
Tracks how AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Jasper) are used across the company. Shows AI adoption rate, top AI tools by usage time, and team-level adoption insights. Available as a Premium add-on.

Attendance

Path: Reports → Attendance URL: 2.timedoctor.com/attendance
Tracks attendance against scheduled shifts. Shows each user's date, status, shift start time, actual start time, shift length, expected hours, and actual hours tracked. Filter to show only users with shifts or only absent/late users.

Benchmarks AI (Premium)

Path: Reports → Benchmarks AI URL: 2.timedoctor.com/benchmarks
Uses AI to compare the team's productivity against similar peer companies. Shows whether the team ranks in the top 25% for share of productive time. Exclusive to Premium customers; available as an add-on for Basic and Standard plans.

Meeting Insights (Premium / Add-on)

Path: Reports → Meeting Insights URL: 2.timedoctor.com/meeting-insights
Tracks how much time teams spend in meetings, trends over time, idle time during meetings vs. outside meetings, and total number of meetings. Available as a Premium add-on.

Unusual Activity (Premium)

Path: Reports → Unusual Activity URL: 2.timedoctor.com/unusual-activity
Examines keyboard and mouse activity to flag unusual behavior that may indicate time tracking discrepancies — for example, unusually high keystrokes or unusually consistent mouse movement. Exclusive to Premium customers.

Operations & Cost Management

Custom Export

Path: Reports → Custom Export URL: 2.timedoctor.com/csv
Build a fully customized CSV or Excel export. Select specific columns including basics (name, email, employee ID), time fields (time tracked, manual time, mobile time, meeting time, break time), productivity data, and activity metrics. Supports time format and timezone options.

Office vs Remote (Add-on)

Path: Reports → Office vs Remote URL: 2.timedoctor.com/office-vs-remote
Compares productivity between office, remote, and hybrid days. Shows day breakdowns, unproductive time by location type, and idle time percentages. Available as a paid add-on.

Software Cost Insights (Add-on)

Path: Reports → Software Cost Insights URL: 2.timedoctor.com/software-cost-insights
Identifies unused and rarely used software licenses and calculates potential monthly savings. Available as a Premium add-on.

 

3. Screencasts

Path: Screencasts (top navigation bar) URL: 2.timedoctor.com/screencasts
Displays screenshots and video screen recordings captured from users' computers. Filter by All, Low Activity, or Identical screenshots. Choose a user from the dropdown to review screencasts for any given day, week, or month.

 

4. Edit Time

Path: Edit Time (top navigation bar) URL: 2.timedoctor.com/edit-time
Allows admins and managers to view and manually edit tracked time for individual users. Shows a visual timeline and a list of time entries — Time Started, Time Ended, Total Time, Project, and Task. Use the pencil icon to edit an entry. Navigate by date using the arrows at the top of the page.

 

5. Approvals

Path: Approvals (top navigation bar) URL: 2.timedoctor.com/approvals
Manages approval requests for manually entered time, paid leave, and unpaid leave. Filter by All, Approval Pending, Approved, or Disapproved. Navigate by Day, Week, or Month. Enables a workflow where manual time must be approved before it is counted toward tracked hours.

 

6. Settings

Path: Settings (top navigation bar dropdown)
The Settings menu is a dropdown with multiple configuration sub-pages covering billing, users, integrations, and company-wide preferences.

Billing

Path: Settings → Billing URL: https://2.timedoctor.com/new-billing
Manage the subscription plan and payment details. Contains three tabs: Billing Details, Add-ons, and Invoices.

Project & Task Settings

Path: Settings → Project & Task Settings URL: 2.timedoctor.com/projects-and-tasks
Create, manage, and archive projects and tasks for the team. The left panel lists all active projects; selecting a project allows configuration of it and its tasks. Includes an Add Project button and a search bar.

Productivity Ratings

Path: Settings → Productivity Ratings URL: 2.timedoctor.com/productivity-ratings
Rate websites and applications as Productive, Neutral, or Unproductive. Ratings can be set at the Company (Global) scope. Filter by All, Productive, Unproductive, Neutral, or Unrated. These ratings drive the Web & App Usage report.

Users

Path: Settings → Users URL: 2.timedoctor.com/manage-users
Manage all user accounts in the system. View Active Users, Archived Users, Computers, and Inactive Computers. Configure per-user settings including screenshot frequency, blur screenshots toggle, edit time permission, and timeout settings. Add new users with the Add Users button.

Groups

Create and manage user groups for organizing the team. Assign group managers to control who can view data for group members. View and edit group membership and archived groups.

Email Notifications

Path: Settings → Email Notifications URL: 2.timedoctor.com/notifications
Set up automated email alerts triggered by user behavior. Notifications are organized into Real-time, Daily, and Weekly categories. Each notification has a name, a condition, recipients, and an enable/disable toggle.

Integrations

Connect Time Doctor with external HR platforms for automatic employee record and time-off data synchronization. Available native integrations include BambooHR, Zoho People, Workday, ADP Workforce Now, Rippling, and People Force. Also includes a Browser Extension tab.

Company Settings

Path: Settings → Company Settings URL: 2.timedoctor.com/company/edit
Configure company-wide settings. Sub-sections in the left sidebar include: Company details (name, owner, timezone, start week), Configuration (tracking type, blur screenshots, idle timeout, auto-approve manual time), Permissions, Billing, Web & app privacy, Work-life balance metrics, and Advanced settings.

Schedules

Path: Settings → Schedules URL: 2.timedoctor.com/schedules
Set and manage work schedules for all users. Displayed as a weekly calendar grid with each user as a row. Schedules can be imported via CSV. Integrates with the Attendance report and supports shift and leave entries.

Breaks

Path: Settings → Breaks URL: 2.timedoctor.com/breaks
Create and manage break types — for example, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, or 12 PM–1 PM. Each break can be configured with specific durations and rules. Active and archived breaks are kept in separate tabs.

 

7. Payroll

Path: Payroll (top navigation bar) URL: 2.timedoctor.com/payroll
Generate payroll reports based on tracked hours. Shows each user's total hours, total paid time, manual time, adjustments, hourly rate, hourly limit, and total pay. Supports integration with Gusto, PayPal Payouts, and Wise. Export options include CSV and Summary formats.

 

8. Invite

Path: Invite (top navigation bar) URL: 2.timedoctor.com/invite
Add new team members to the Time Doctor account. Three invitation methods are available via tabs: Invite by Email (type or paste email addresses), Invite by Sending a Link (share a signup link), and Add by CSV (bulk import). Also includes a User Settings shortcut.

 

9. Download

Path: Download (top navigation bar) URL: 2.timedoctor.com/downloads
Download the Time Doctor desktop app. Available for Windows, Mac OS, Ubuntu, and Chrome OS. Also links to the mobile app (iOS App Store and Google Play). Two app modes are available: Interactive App and Automatic App.
