Time Tracked on Jira Tasks Isn’t Being Uploaded to Jira

Note: Jira Integration via the Time Doctor Chrome Extension and Firefox Add-on is available in Standard and Premium plans and can be accessed by Admins/Owners to enable; accessible to all users for tracking.

TL;DR:

Time tracked on Jira tasks may not upload if no Jira page is open. Keep a Jira tab active on the same domain, or restart the browser to resolve the issue. Uploads occur automatically every five minutes.

Time Tracked on Jira Tasks Isn’t Being Uploaded to Jira

When using the Time Doctor Chrome Extension or Firefox Add-on for Jira, tracked time is uploaded to Jira every five minutes. If tracked time is not being uploaded, follow these steps to troubleshoot:
  1. Keep a Jira page open
Ensure that at least one Jira page is open in the browser. The page must be on the same Jira domain (e.g., yourcompany.atlassian.net).
  2. Keep a Jira tab open while tracking
Maintain at least one Jira tab open during tracking to allow the extension/add-on to push tracked time at the five-minute upload cycle.
  3. Restart the browser
Completely close and restart the browser if uploads are still not working. This resets the background processes and allows queued uploads to sync with Jira.
