Why Are Some Websites Showing Up as “Other Web Pages”?

Note: Web & App Usage (including the “Other Web Pages” category) is available on Standard and Premium plans and can be accessed by Owners, Admins, and Managers (per default permissions).

TL;DR:

List websites that show only a page title (no URL) under Other Web Pages. Because no URL is captured, Productive/Unproductive ratings cannot be applied to those items. Improve accuracy by enabling Extended Web & App reporting and reviewing Productivity Ratings for sites that do capture URLs.

Time Doctor can sometimes capture only a page title from a browser tab without the full URL. When that happens, the activity is grouped under Other Web Pages in Web & App Usage.

Common reasons include:
  • Privacy/permission limits in the browser or OS that prevent URL capture.
  • Basic Web & App reporting level is enabled (URLs limited to home domains; some tabs may return only titles).
  • Tabs or apps that mask URLs (certain internal tools, extensions, or web views).

Can items under “Other Web Pages” be rated as Productive or Unproductive?

No. Time Doctor’s productivity ratings are applied to URLs (websites) and application names. Items that appear only as page titles cannot be rated because a URL or app executable is required for the rating system to match correctly.

Improve accuracy & reduce “Other Web Pages” entries

Follow these steps to minimize entries that end up in Other Web Pages:
  1. Use the appropriate Web & App reporting level
    • Go to Settings → Company settings → Web & App reporting.
    • Choose Extended to allow capture of full URLs, page titles, and app window titles where appropriate.
  2. Keep apps and permissions up to date
    • Ensure the desktop app and browsers are on supported versions.
    • Confirm required OS/browser permissions are granted so URLs can be captured.
  3. Maintain Productivity Ratings
  4. When URL capture is intentionally restricted
    • If policy uses Basic reporting or privacy settings to limit URL capture, expect more entries in Other Web Pages. In that case, rely on higher‑level trends in the Web & App Usage report rather than per‑URL ratings for those items.
