How to Install Time Doctor Interactive App on Ubuntu

 

Note: Ubuntu Interactive App is available on all Time Doctor Subscription Plans. This can be accessed by all user access roles.

 

TL;DR

Log into an Xorg (X11) desktop session. Download the Ubuntu installer from the Downloads page, set execution permission, and run it. Install XCB libraries if prompted.  

 

Prerequisites

  • Use the Xorg (X11) desktop environment. (For Wayland, install the Time Doctor Browser App for Chrome.)
  • Ensure administrative (root) access for installing dependencies.
  • Verify that libxcb-xinerama0 is installed before launching the app.

 

Installation Using the Downloadable File

  1. Open the Downloads page and download the Time Doctor installer file for Ubuntu.

  2. Right-click on the downloaded file, select PropertiesPermissions, and check Allow executing file as program.
  3. Right-click the file again and select Run as a program.
  4. After installation, open the Apps folder and launch the Time Doctor app.

 

Installation Using the Terminal

  1. Convert the installer file to an executable: sudo chmod +x [filename]

  2. Run the installer: ./[installer file name]

  3. Enter the root password when prompted to install XCB libraries required by Time Doctor.

  4. If installation of XCB libraries fails, install them manually: sudo apt install libxcb-xinerama0

  5. Update libraries manually if upgrading from an older Time Doctor app version and experiencing issues.

 

Note: Ensure that the terminal is in the folder containing the installer file. For example, if the installer file is in the Downloads folder, navigate there before running the commands.
